Meet Matthew Bradford, our Vice President!

Biography: 

Matthew is a Psychology major and a Music minor here at UNCP, graduating this May. He plans on going to graduate school to earn his Masters of Science. He chose psychology because he wanted to study the brain and how it reacts to stimuli, but the different sub-fields that are offered also intrigued him. Matthew’s favorite UNCP experience was being a research assistant and having the opportunity to create and conduct his own research study. He had originally joined the Psychology Club because of his major, but decided to run for his office as Vice President to have the experience of getting a new and upcoming club on its feet.

Leadership in the Club: 

Matthew is very high in a need for achievement, and he thoroughly enjoys the feeling he gets whenever his completes a task or achieves a goal he sets for himself. Because of this need and his love for obtaining goals, he is motivated to continue setting higher goals for himself. As Vice President, Matthew plays an informational role, helping to monitor meetings being a spokesperson at UNCP Organizational Round Table meetings. Matthew agrees with our President, Sahara, that the democratic style of the University of Iowa’s Leadership model. He believes that the leader should have the right to make the final decision, but that the voices and opinions of others in the group should be heard and taken into consideration.
